Hi Crafty Friends!
First of all, I’d like to take a moment to welcome you to the new home of my blog Theresa Cifali: This Aritst’s View. I’m excited to have a new look to this blog, but all the content will still be just as creative and crafty as always! If it’s your first time here, please take a look through the archives…and I also invite you to follow the feed!
Today is the official hop day for the Designer Craft Connection! On the first Monday of the month, the designers in this fantastic group will be bringing you great projects to help inspire you. The theme for this month is Celebrations, with a particular focus on Mother’s Day. However, I have chosen to give a little Graduation card inspiration.
I love to make cards, particularly ones that are interactive. Graduations are a special time of year because it not only celebrates the culmination of years of hard work and achievement, but it also signifies a new beginning. It is the perfect time to give a graduate a handmade, one of a kind card! The card above is a shaker card. Using paper, foam core, colorful beads or confetti and a sheet of transparency, you can create a really fun card that people will be talking about! You can use anything you want for the picture … usually I put some kind of personalized message or poem to commemorate the occasion. When I made this I just got lucky. The party was a week after the graduation and I was able to get a picture from the graduation boy’s mom! So not only is the card itself very special…but now it is also a great keepsake.
Hope this inspires you to do something fun and creative for your special graduates this year! Now it’s time to hop forward….the hop button is in the sidebar. Enjoy!
